Nature in the Classroom (NIC)
Looking for something a little less involved than field trips to the Nature Center? Durango Nature Studies also offers classroom-only enrichment programs around natural science topics. These one-hour programs are a great way to dig a little deeper into something that the class is studying or to present a standards-based environmental education program using our extensive resources (pelts, birds, skulls, tracks, other animal signs, and more!).
Each Nature in the Classroom (NIC) program offers unique curriculum presented by DNS instructors. They help teachers meet state science standards, while engaging students through engaging and inquiry based activities.
