Nature in the Classroom (NIC)
In addition to our Nature Center Programs and Field Trips, we offer classroom enrichment programs at your school around natural science topics. These one-hour programs can be used to dig a little deeper into something that the class is studying or to present a standards based environmental education program using our extensive resources (pelts, birds, skulls, tracks, other animal signs, and more!)
Each NIC program offers unique curriculum presented by DNS instructors. They help teachers meet state science standards, while engaging students through engaging and inquiry based activities.
Animal Signs | Buzz on Bees | Geology Rock Talk | Insect Investigation | Discovering Your Senses | Fire: A Forest Friend | All About Owls | Bird Basics | Winter Wildlife
Once you have chosen your program, fill out the registration form with your top three dates. We will contact you to finalize your program and will do all we can to accommodate your date and time requests around our other program schedules. If you have questions, contact Communications Coordinator, Andrea McAlpin at firstname.lastname@example.org or 970-769-9377.
