Spring Training

Training Schedule:
Wednesday, March 15:   6:00 pm – 8:30 pm at the Durango Public Library
Friday, March 17 & Saturday, March 18:  8:30 am – 4:00 pm at the Nature Center

Our Spring Volunteer Program trains participants to teach our award winning Children Discovering Nature and Exploring Science in Nature Programs for grades K, 1st, and 8th in the spring.

On the first night you will receive your 300 page manual, get to know staff and the other volunteers, and become familiar with the program and what to expect.  On the full days at the Nature Center, you will observe our instructors teach a school program, break down the content and activities of each grade’s program, and become oriented to the Nature Center.

Volunteers will be able to pick their own schedule.  We ask that volunteers choose at least 5 volunteer days throughout our spring season, which takes place during March, April, and May.

For more information or to register for this training, please contact Communications Coordinator, Andrea McAlpin, at 970-769-9377 or andrea@durangonaturestudies.org.
