Training Schedule:
Our Fall orientation will take place on:
Wednesday, September 11, starting at 6:00pm
DNS offices in the Smiley Building
Our training prepares participants to teach our Children Discovering Nature and Exploring Science in Nature Programs for 3rd, 5th, & 7th grades in the fall.
On the first night (orientation) you will receive your training manual, get to know staff and the other volunteers, and become familiar with the program and what to expect. We will then schedule at least one “shadow” training Nature Center, where you will observe our instructors teaching a school program, break down the content and activities of each grade’s program, and become oriented to the Nature Center.
As a volunteer, you will be able to pick a schedule that works well for you, but ideally, we ask that volunteers commit to at least 5 volunteer days throughout our fall season, which takes place from mid-September to mid-November.
